About Us

Drinking ice-cold beers in Osaka!

Howzit!

I’m Brandon (on the left). My first trip to Japan was the end of May 2014 and my life has never been the same.

I’m Chad (on the right). I lived in Japan for 10 years, and I just moved back to Hawaii to start on a new adventure.

We’ve been best friends since our hanabata days; from playing soccer to fishing and now traveling, we have a good time whatever we do. We’re both newlyweds (our wives will make their debuts in the near future), and we plan to travel all over Japan and the world.

Our reason for starting this blog

We have friends and family that dream of going to Japan, but they don’t know where to start. With both of our contrasting experiences ー Brandon’s perspective from a travelers standpoint gives him a keen eye for what travelers from Hawaii to Japan want; Chad’s perspective from a local boy’s standpoint living in Japan ー we believe that we have the knowledge and ability to provide useful information for those who want to explore Japan.

The meaning behind “Jet-Set Japan

The word “Jet-setter” refers to wealthy people who travel for pleasure, but this is not what our “Jet-Set” means. Our definition of “Jet-Set” is you don’t have to be wealthy to travel to Japan and make memories of a lifetime.
